Martell Irby

Martell Irby is a 5-foot-9, 200-pound running back, receiver and safety for Morse High School, where he played for coach Tracy McNair. Irby earned four varsity letters playing football, two in track and field and one in basketball.

The KUSI Prep Pigskin Report Silver Pigskin Finalist in 2017 was named to the CIF San Diego Section First-Team Offense. Irby, a team captain as a junior and senior, had the most rushing yards in the Eastern League in the 2016-2017 season.

Also a talented musician and saxophone player, Irby attends the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts. He maintained a 3.97 GPA and was named a San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic Team Captain in 2017. Irby has been on the Honor Roll every semester and received the Urban League of San Diego County Golden Pyramid Award for academic excellence. He is an active member in the community, serving as the president of the Kudos Youth Group. He is also a youth leader at New Season Church.

Irby will continue to play football at UCLA, where he plans to study business with an emphasis in sports management, while also minoring in jazz studies. In his free time, he enjoys working out and playing the saxophone. Martell is the son of Mark and Monica Irby.
