Mozes Mooney is a 6-foot-1, 180-pound wide receiver, defensive back and punt and kick returner at The Bishop’s School, where he played for coach Joel Allen. The versatile athlete earned four varsity letters playing football and one each in basketball and track and field.
Mooney hauled in 79 balls for over 1,100 yards and scored 20 touchdowns on offense, while intercepting two passes and recovering a fumble on defense. He was named to the All-CIF San Diego Section First-Team Offense for the second straight year and was selected as the Player of the Year in the Coastal League. He also made the All-Coastal League First-Team Offense for the fourth time. He holds several section records, including most career pass receptions (276), most career reception yardage (3,954) and most career TD receptions (66).
Off the field, he maintained a 3.0 GPA and spent three years as a member of the 7v7 Club. He is an active member of the Bishop’s Black Student Union and can often be found supporting other sports at his school despite having a packed schedule.
Mooney will continue his football and academic career at Columbia University. In his spare time, he enjoys sneakers and playing Minecraft and dominoes.. Mozes is the son of Anthony and Cecillia Mooney.
