Michael Chandler

Michael Chandler is a 6-foot, 215-pound offensive and defensive lineman at La Jolla Country Day, where he played for coach Tyler Hales. The two-way starter captained both the football and tennis teams at the school.

Chandler was named All-Coastal League First-Team Offense in 2017. His play on both sides of the ball in 2016 helped the Torreys capture the CIF Division 5-A Southern California Regional title.

Off the field, Chandler maintained a 4.2 GPA and was a San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic Team selection for both football and tennis. He scored a 1530 out of 1600 on his SAT, including a perfect score in math. Chandler is an active community member near and far from home, as he traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana to help build homes for victims of Hurricane Katrina.

He plans to attend a four year university and then law school, as he aspires to become a trial attorney. This summer, Chandler will intern for the Honorable United States District Judge John Houston. Michael is the son of Timothy A. Chandler and Sallie A. Blackman.
