Demian Rodriguez is a 5-foot-8, 155-pound defensive back at Hoover High School, where he played under head coaches Jerry Ralph and Jimmy Morgans. A two-sport star, Rodriguez earned three varsity letters playing football and two in lacrosse. He was the captain for both teams his junior and senior years.
In 2017, Rodriguez was named to the All-City League First-Team Defense after averaging 12 tackles per game and recording an interception. He was honored with the Mr. Cardinal Award, the highest award given for football at Hoover High.
A standout student-athlete, Rodriguez maintained a 4.21 GPA during his four years of high school. He was named to the San Diego Union-Tribune All-Academic Team for his efforts in the classroom and on the field. He is also very active in the community, participating in canyon cleanups and raising awareness for environmental issues through a non-profit, Ocean Discovery Institute.
Rodriguez will attend USC, where he aspires to earn a degree in computer science. During his free time, he enjoys playing video games and watching Star Wars. Demian is the son of David and Nylza Rodriguez.
